The XT5 is the only pen in the Bimoji line built with individual synthetic bristles instead of a solid felt tip, which changes how it behaves: the bristles flex and spread under pressure rather than compressing as one piece, giving a more natural brush feel and a much wider working range — 0.5 mm up to a sweeping 8.0 mm — than any felt-tip Bimoji pen can manage. That range covers fine hairline detail and broad expressive washes from the same pen, useful for sumi-e style painting or dynamic lettering where stroke width needs to vary dramatically within a single piece.

Ink feeds continuously into the bristles without needing to be pumped or squeezed, and it's the same archival water-based black pigment used across the line — waterproof and lightfast, holding up under a watercolor wash layered on top without running.
