With WHITEBOOK 01 – “IT’S A CIRCLE”, photographer and graffiti artist Mark Grokenberger presents a powerful documentation of graffiti culture in New York. Between 2019 and 2025, he traveled ten times to the birthplace of modern train writing together with friends from across Europe, capturing the creation of wholetrains and wholecars up close through his lens. Grokenberger tells the story from the perspective of a writer on a journey to the roots of graffiti—a search for historical parallels, creative development, and personal expression.
