The Spectra bonefolder is made from solid natural cattle bone rather than plastic, which matters for what this tool is actually used for: plastic folders can flex under pressure, melt slightly from friction heat, or leave a shiny burnished streak behind on delicate paper — bone stays rigid and smooth without any of that, since it's chemically inert and doesn't react with the paper surface the way plastic can.

The two ends serve different jobs: a sharp, tapered point on one end for precise scoring and creasing, like folding origami points or scoring a sharp spine crease, and a rounded, smoothed edge on the other for broader work like flattening a glued seam or burnishing a wider area without denting the paper. At 16 cm long, it's a standard working size for bookbinding, scrapbooking, and similar paper craft.
