The Prockey runs on a water-based pigment ink rather than the alcohol-based formula most permanent markers use, which means it doesn't carry the strong chemical smell those markers have, and it doesn't bleed through to the next page or two of a notebook the way alcohol ink tends to. Despite being water-based, it still sets up fully waterproof, smudge-proof, and lightfast once dry, holding up against most solvents the same way an alcohol marker would.

The 1.2–1.8 mm acrylic bullet tip stays firm rather than splaying out over time, and it bonds permanently to a wide range of surfaces — paper, flip charts, cardboard, plastic, glass, fabric, metal, wood — so the same marker covers office presentations, labeling, and general sketching without needing a different pen for each.
