This chalk marker is built for non-porous surfaces only — glass, acrylic, glazed ceramic, mirrors, plastic, and non-porous metal — and the ink wipes off cleanly with a damp cloth from those surfaces, which is the entire point of the marker. Used on a porous surface like a matte wall or a standard chalkboard, the same ink sets permanently instead, so the surface really does matter here, not just as a spec detail. Before first use, the pen needs a firm shake and a bit of priming on scrap card to get the valve-action ink flow started.
The 1.8–2.5 mm bullet tip stays consistent from any writing angle, suited to menu boards, window lettering, or signage text rather than filling large areas. Despite being water-based and chalk-like in appearance, the ink is rain-resistant once it's dry, so outdoor boards or storefront windows hold up through light rain without running.
