The Sakura Koi 60-Piece Creative Studio Set pairs a 52-color standard palette with 8 specialty pans — 4 metallic finishes (Gold, Deep Gold, Silver, Copper) and 4 pearlescent finishes. Where the metallics dry with a straightforward shimmer, the pearlescent pigments shift slightly depending on the angle of the light, giving a softer, more iridescent effect than a flat metallic tone. Both finishes stay visible layered over dark backgrounds or on top of dry gouache, where a standard transparent watercolor would otherwise disappear.

The case is a wide-format desktop design with a continuous multi-well mixing area built into the lid, and two large cleaning sponges are included for the brush.
