At 0.9 mm the lead is thick and virtually break-proof, built for tonal shading, storyboarding, carpentry layout marking, and rough structural sketching where a finer point simply isn't the right tool. The extended 4 mm stainless steel guide sleeve resists bending under heavy field use, keeping lines straight whether you're working on studio graph sheets or rough building materials.
