KATSU is a graffiti artist turned new media artist and self described artist-vandal-hacker. Based in New York City, he is infamous for his use of fire extinguishers to produce tags of a monumental scale. He gained further notoriety as the first graffiti artist to arm drones with spray cans. Beyond his work in the streets, KATSU has created a number of fictional "documentary" videos of himself tagging high profile locations like the White House. His works revolve around technology, public interventions, commentary on commercialism, privacy and digital culture. As a result, his practice includes drone painting, sculpture, digital media, conceptual works and video games.
