Grog Driller 04 RSP Steel Tip Marker, 4mm

The Grog Driller 04 RSP is built for the surfaces that destroy felt nibs. Instead of fabric or mohair, this steel tip marker runs a 4mm spring-loaded stainless steel ball — a rollerball that rides over rust, raw concrete, chipped wood and gritty brick without fraying, splitting or flattening out. On rough textures the ball just keeps rolling where a felt nib would shred after a handful of tags, and it drills past surface dust, oil and water to put paint on the actual material underneath instead of on the grime sitting on top of it. That makes it as much an industrial marker as a graffiti one — it works the same on a dirty container door as it does on a clean wall.

It comes pre-filled with Grog's Ruff Stuff Paint: an alcohol-based, high-viscosity formula that lays down thick, ultra-opaque and glossy. It holds up outside, resisting weathering and UV, so lines stay solid rather than fading and chalking out after a season.

The 60 ml body is soft flexible plastic, which is where the control comes from. Held normally with steady movement it gives you a crisp 4mm line; squeeze the body and you push more paint through the ball, flooding it into heavy glossy drips on demand. Regulating that pressure with your hand is a feel thing — worth burning a few lines on cardboard before you take it somewhere that counts. For drip work specifically it's a different animal from a fabric nib, since nothing wears down or gets soggy no matter how much paint you force through it.

The head is removable, so it refills rather than gets binned. Top it up with Grog Buckshot 60 RSP paint or any other high-viscosity paint formula. The steel ball tip is exchangeable too — spare Driller 04 steel ball tips are sold separately, so you can swap in a fresh one instead of replacing the whole marker, or keep a clean one on hand when switching to a different color.
